In 2021, I met my husband while traveling… Soon after, I moved to Cairo. We married, were blessed with two littles & so much more…
Transitioning to life in the East has been full spectrum (especially while simultaneously becoming a wife & mother). Finding the sweet spot between the dialectics of both worlds is my daily intention.
I hope you’ll find a sense of connection & comfort through relating to my experiences.

Hello hello!!! I`m excited to announce that I’ve launched my new blog, iluhabibi.com
I’ll be using the blog as a platform for my short stories. You’ll find satirical autobiographical content relating to intercultural marriage, life since meeting Mohamed, motherhood & other personal experiences that I really really want to share.
My transition to life in the East has been full spectrum and SUPER difficult at times… Over the years, I’ve connected with so many women here in Cairo who have married Egyptian men. There are great stories of love & light–and also tragedy and hardship.
Life in Egypt has its own pace and the hustle is real. Many of us get so consumed with our own lives that we don’t have time to really connect with others– and lack the support systems through friendships and family that we grew up accustomed to back home.
I hope that my stories will give everyone a good laugh, clear up some misconceptions, arm women facing struggles in their intercultural marriages with a little validation and really just provide a feeling of comfort to those who need it.
The site will also provide some recommendations and resources for those of you living in the city…
The warmest of regards,
Claire
